As you use Discord to connect with friends and engage in various communities, you might encounter users who send unwanted messages or disrupt your experience. In these cases, it’s helpful to know how to block someone on Discord.
This tutorial will guide you through the process of blocking and unblocking users on Discord to ensure you only interact with the people you want.
Let’s get into the tutorial!
Blocking Users on Discord
If someone is bothering or spamming you, then you can easily block the user. You can do it by following these steps:
Step 1: Access the User’s Profile
Click or tap on the user’s name to open their profile card. If you’re on a server on which the user participate, you can click on the user you want to block and then go to the profile.
If you don’t share any server with the Discord user you want to block, just go to the top left bar and enter the user ID on “Find or start a conversation”. Then you’ll be able to access the profile.
Step 3: Block the User
In the user profile, click or tap on the three-dot menu icon (⋮) located at the top-right corner. From the dropdown menu, select the “Block” option.
After blocking a user, you will no longer receive direct messages from them or see their messages in server channels. Blocked users will also be unable to see your online status or join voice channels you’re participating in.
Unblocking Users on Discord
If you decide to unblock a user you previously blocked, you can go to the friends tab and select “Blocked”. There, you’ll see a list of blocked users to unblock.
