Threads in Discord are a useful feature for organizing topics and conversations on Discord servers, and help community members easily find what they’re looking for. However, there might be instances when you need to delete a thread, such as when the discussion has concluded, or the thread contains spam or inappropriate content.

In this guide, we’ll walk you through the steps to delete a thread in Discord.

Steps to Delete a Thread in Discord

Deleting a thread is easy! This is all you need to do:

Step 1: Locate the Thread

Open Discord (on desktop or mobile) and navigate to the server containing the thread you want to delete.

Find the thread you wish to delete in the channel’s thread list. You can access the thread list by clicking or tapping on the “Threads” button, usually located at the top-right corner of the channel.

Step 2: Open Thread Options

Once you’ve located the thread you want to delete, click or tap on it to open the thread conversation. Then, click or tap on the three-dot menu icon (⋮) located at the top-right corner of the thread.

Step 3: Delete the Thread

From the dropdown menu, click or tap on the “Delete Thread” option.

A confirmation prompt will appear, asking if you’re sure you want to delete the thread. Click or tap on “Delete” to confirm your action.

Keep in mind that deleting a thread is a permanent action and cannot be undone, so you must ensure that you’re certain about deleting the thread before proceeding. Still, there are some ways to see deleted messages on Discord, but not directly on the Discord app.

Remember that you can also leave, mute, or lock a thread if you don’t mean to delete it!
