These moderators are not trained to help in urgent cases but can provide exceptional support for those who need a friendly ear to listen.
However, if you are dealing with an urgent situation, the community has some resources depending on the case. For example, for people who are in danger of self-harm, Side by Side makes it easy for them to access professional support channels immediately.
The community has three guiding principles: being mindful, being kind, and being safe. Side by Side shares some best practices' to interact with others. These include not sharing your personal information, not participating in arguments, and reporting anything suspicious.
Once you register, you need to complete a survey about your experiences and interests. This helps the community show you the most suitable posts for you. In case you do not have a particular interest, you can click on "Show me everything" and access all posts. You also have the option to create your own post or you can reply to others' posts.
