The Indiependent is a community for indie founders hosted in Discord, where you can join fellow peers in active discussions about their projects.
There are no requirements to join the community. You pay a $49 one-time fee and you get lifetime access to the Discord server. Furthermore, there is even an affiliate program available now for members! However, you have to keep in mind that members have to actively participate. If you don't interact for 30 days, you will be booted. Community builder Rosie Sherry, The Indiependent's founder, is running this experiment to test if this is a useful model for other communities.
Rosie saw that inactive members are a big problem in most communities. There are usually a handful of very active members. Others only join because of FOMO but later forget about participating. In The Indiependent Community, past inactive members can re-join at any time, but they have to pay the fee again. This ensures all members inside the community commit to engaging and interacting with others.
And because of that, the Discord server only has people who want to build relationships and help each other out. You will find fellow peers who understand, just like you, what it's like to be an indie founder. This community is a safe place for you to share your challenges and wins, and to get advice and feedback from others.

Members of The Indiependent Community interact on a Discord server. To create deeper connections and to ensure the community is thriving and engaged, Indiependent has one rule: to interact. Members lose their membership if they don't interact with others in 30 days. You can always re-join, but you have to pay the fee again.
This ensures all members inside the community are participating and actively building relationships. This online group it's a great place for indie founders to ask questions, share useful resources, and give advice and feedback to others.
"I'm also glad to be part of this "experiment". As I said to Rosie yesterday, it's a win-win-win deal. The community is bound to remain at a reasonable size and alive for quite a while, which is a win for community members. The entry price is a win for the community host and doubles as a useful noise filter for the community. Loss aversion also plays a useful role. And since we can even become affiliates and help keep the community alive and well, it's one more win. I like it a lot ❤️" -Sebastien
