WiFi Tribe is a paid community of digital nomads who travel and live together for about a month in different locations around the world.
To join, you have to fill an application form and tell the community a bit about yourself, the work you do, and whether you are currently traveling or not. Later, you will participate in a 30-40 minute video call interview. The last step is to complete the MBTI personality test. If the company's culture and travel style fit you, you will be able to join WiFi Travel.
Once you join, you will enter a Slack group. This online group is where members connect and interact when they aren't traveling together. You can ask all the questions you want, receive advice from members, and share your traveling experiences. From Slack, you can also book a chapter or gather in person with other members in your city. There are different channels for organizing in-person meetups in many cities across the world.
WiFi Tribe works with "chapters". Chapters are traveling destinations with a set accommodation and some activities planned in advance. When you book a chapter, you will gather with other 10-25 people in the nearest airport to go together to the booked accommodation. You can book private or shared rooms. Once there, you will live with that group of people for about a month.
There are some activities planned in advance, but there is also plenty of room for spontaneity. You can decide to stay in one day to focus on work or explore the city by yourself. Some activities are also spontaneous (like weekend trips or weekday dinners) and others are decided on the go with the whole group.
Yearly membership to the WiFi Tribe costs $500. On the other hand, chapters cost between $1200-$2800. There are discounts for members who have gone to at least two chapters. Additionally, you can also save by booking many chapters in advance.
Experience the world with a community of digital nomads:
WiFi Tribe organizes chapters of 10-25 people who travel to the same city and live in the same accommodation for about a month. You will get to experience new places in the company of a tribe of like-minded people and remote workers!
Connect in a Slack group:
The community interacts in a Slack group. Members ask questions, share their experiences, and meet in person by using the dedicated channels for different cities across the world.
Save by joining many chapters!:
As you experience different chapters, you will enjoy more discounts on chapter prices. Members have access to discounts after they join the second chapter. You can also save by booking many chapters in advance.
To join, you need to fill an application form telling the community a little bit about yourself, the work you do, and whether you are currently traveling or not. Once your application has been reviewed (in about two weeks) you will hear news from the community's team.
The last step is to have a 30-40 minute video call interview. You will later complete the MBTI personality test. If the community's culture and travel style fit with you, you will be accepted into the community.
Global
Every month, you have several destinations available to choose from. Every trip is called a "chapter". When you join a chapter and once you get to the designated airport, you will gather with other participants of the chapter and go together to the selected accommodation. Chapters are paid upfront, and every chapter has a booked hotel, hostel, or coliving space.
There are some activities planned upfront, but there is a lot of room for spontaneity. You can decide one day to explore the city by yourself or stay at the hotel to focus on work. There are other activities (like spontaneous weekend trips or weekday dinners) that are decided with the rest of the group.Â
Keep in mind that the more chapters you have attended, the most you are going to save.Â
Members of the community interact in a Slack group. Once you join, you will enter the online group where you will be able to introduce yourself and get to know other members of the tribe. There are channels like "member ask me anything" where you can ask all the questions you want about what it's like to travel with WiFi Tribe and request some remote work tips. In the Slack group, you can also book a chapter or meet with others in your city (since there are specific channels for different cities across the world).
"WiFi Tribe attracts all sorts of unique personalities. In any other hodgepodge of people, that might not work and could lead to problems, but with WiFi Tribe each person has the same zest for new experiences, love of travel, and warmth and their core that bonds everyone together. I feel very lucky to have met so many people with different quirks and ambitions who also share so many of my values." -Monica Sweeney
