Description

ClimateAction.Tech is a free community for people working in the tech industry who want to take action to reduce the impact of climate change.

There are no requirements to join the community's Slack group. This online group has over 2500 members from all over the world. Members come from all sorts of different backgrounds, roles, and experiences. Indeed, it's a really cross-disciplinary group. Many minds come together and think of new ways to reduce the impact on climate that the technology industry has.

You can join the Slack group to interact with other members in the diverse channels. You can also hear about new community events via the Slack group. If you participate in the channel "#cat-roulette", you will be able to easily network with others. This channel allows you to meet fellow climate-conscious technologists by pairing you with a randomly selected member of the community, every two weeks.

Besides the Slack channel, the community has several other events you can attend. On the one hand, every Friday at 11 AM members meet for 11 minutes. This meeting exists to talk about climate change and support youth climate strikes. On the other hand, you can also participate in bi-monthly events, the "CAT Coffees". These events are online and gather participants to talk about specific topics. Every member votes on what specific topic they want to talk about, and votes dictate what will be discussed in the event.

Additionally, you can participate in CAT Salons. In these events, the community brings diverse industry experts. They talk about climate change and what can tech companies do to contribute to this global issue. Past events are on CAT's YouTube channel for you to watch whenever you want. Lastly, you can also read CAT's blog and action guides to get ideas and learn how to take action today.
