Description

Scribophile is a community for writers to get relevant feedback on their manuscripts before publishing. It also has several online forums.

It's free to register in Scribophile, and you will be joining a community of thousands of writers from all around the world. You will be able to develop your own network of fellow authors to rely on for support. Additionally, you surely will find like-minded people who write in similar genres and styles as you.

Feedback is super important for writers to polish their works before publication. This community makes it easy for you to get relevant feedback. For each story you upload to the platform, you have guaranteed that at least three people will read and review your manuscript. To upload a story, you first have to earn "karma points" by reviewing other authors' publications.

Furthermore, you can connect and interact with other authors in the community's online forums. These forums are a great place to ask questions and request advice from other writers, or just to vent and share your experiences. You can also message individual people you want to connect deeper with.

On the other hand, you can participate in several writing contests to practice your skill. Writing contests in Scribophile have three winners with three different prizes. Sometimes, the prizes involve cash, and other times they give winners several karma points or "Scrib gifts".

Additionally, you can learn even more with Scribophile's Writing Academy. This content library compiles several useful resources for writers. You will find resources on topics like how to craft a compelling story, how to dominate punctuation and grammar, and even how to approach agents and publishers. There are also several blog posts and interviews with experts in the Writing Academy.

Scribophile is free. However, you can add even more benefits to your membership with a premium subcription. Premium membership on Scribophile costs $11/month, or $7.42/month billed yearly. Premium members get some discounts and offers with other companies, unlimited works posted at once, unlimited private messages, and many benefits more. You can see a full list of benefits in Scribophile's membership page.

Learning Events

Scribophile offers its members the opportunity to participate in writing contests. All contests have a set deadline for authors to send their work. The community then votes, and chooses three winners. Sometimes, prizes are up to $100 in cash, other times you can earn "karma points" (the same ones you win when you read a story and give feedback to their author) or "Scrib gifts". Contests are a great way to practice your writing skills and learn something new from other authors.

Networking Events

Members of Scribophile connect and interact in the community's online forums. There are six forums: "Writing", "Publishing", "New Members", "Book Discussions", "The Cool Hang-Out Chill Zone", and "Meta-Scribophile". You can further define your post before publishing it with tags. In the forums, you can ask questions, share insights, request advice, or just talk about writing with other writers.

Additionally, you can join several groups according to your preferred genres and writing styles. You can also message individual members and get relevant feedback to improve your manuscripts. No matter your skill level, you can meet like-minded people in Scribophile and develop a strong support network to rely on.

Quote

"Scribophile was the first place I stopped when I went from being an I-wanna-be-a-writer to I-am-an-author. Now I have four international bestselling novels with major publishers, and when authors come to me I always send them to Scribophile." -Genevieve Graham
