Description
The Sofa Singers is a free community where people from all around the world join regular group singing sessions via Zoom.
To join individual sessions is free, and you can register for these events via the community's Eventbrite. Members participate in sessions twice a week. Once you register, you will receive the lyrics of the song the group will be singing in that specific session. Additionally, you will get the code to enter the Zoom meeting.
On the day of the session, you can choose which parts of the song you want to sing. Moreover, some members join with their guitars or other instruments. This community is awesome not only to practice your musical skills but also to connect with other people and make new friends. After the singing session, there are open mic slots for members to share anything they want.
If you desire to join sessions regularly, The Sofa Singers offers a membership for £10/month. Those who join the membership plan receive the access code and lyrics for each session via email, without the need to register for each session. Additionally, members can join a private Facebook group to keep in touch and interact with others between sessions. Moreover, you can find all past sessions in the Facebook group, along with additional content members share.

Meetings
Members of The Sofa Singers meet twice a week for a singing session. Individual sessions are open to anyone who wants to participate. You can book your session on the community's Eventbrite.
Before the session, you will receive a link to the lyrics of the song the group will be singing in that particular session, along with an access code to join the Zoom meeting. Once you join, James (the founder) will take the participants bit-by-bit through the song they will be singing. After the song, there are some open mic slots where members can share anything they want -recipes, songs, poems, stories, etc.
Members can choose to sing the tune (melody) and/or the backing vocals/harmonies. Some people join with their guitars or another instrument.
If you'd like to join sessions regularly, it's a good idea to join The Sofa Singers membership plan. It costs £10/month. When you join the membership, you will receive the access code for meetings directly to your inbox. Additionally, you will be able to join a private Facebook group and participate in member-only regular sessions.
